Are You Ready For Winter Promotions?

It may be winter, but that doesn’t mean it’s time for your marketing plan to go into hibernation. While many businesses relax their promotional marketing efforts during the post-holiday season, winter promotions can yield great results, especially if you take the time to plan your marketing plan around the season.

Wintry weather offers lots of opportunities for a proactive advertising campaign, especially those that involve promo products. During the winter season (and any season, really), the key to a successful promotional gift program is to offer your customers and potential customers something they’ll find useful so they see your name over and over again.

While summer promo products may include items like beach towels and flying discs, winter calls for a different selection of items. Here are some ideas:

  • Blankets emblazoned with your company logo are always a good choice. Whether used at home or stored in a car for emergency use, a blanket is a useful gift that’s especially appropriate for winter’s cold nights. Choose cuddly fabrics like flannel, microfiber or sweatshirt fabric for the greatest warmth and comfort.
  • Another useful promotional gift that keeps clients warm and cozy: A knitted beanie featuring your company’s logo. Beanies are hot fashion items right now, popular with men and women as well as children and teens.
  • Ice scrapers and hand sanitizers show customers you care about their health, well-being and safety, always a good approach when developing a marketing program.
  • Have your logo printed on a coffee mug, a useful item throughout the year, but especially in winter when it can hold a variety of hot beverages – even soup.
  • If winter has arrived, that means tax season is right around the corner, and what could be more helpful than a calculator. Calculators have the added benefit of being useful all year round, which means they can be an especially powerful branding tool.

Winter promotions have another marked advantage over holiday season promotions: Because your winter items arrive after the busy holiday season, they’re much more likely to be noticed. Why? Customers tend to be inundated with promotional products during the holiday season, which means many items are overlooked or undervalued – many may wind up in the wastebasket or shoved in the back of a drawer. Items that arrive after the holiday usually find the recipient in a calmer, more relaxed state of mind and therefore make a greater and longer-lasting impact, which means your marketing and branding efforts can be more effective than ever.
